b"The NewsSenior SchoolSlavery ExhibitionAfter studying the role of the British in the trading of enslaved people, students pursued their own projects on the role of the Netherlands in slavery. This is a difficult topic, but one very relevant amongst the Dutch historical community at the moment. Students were tasked with curating their own exhibition about Dutch slavery, including choosing their artefacts carefully, communicating a purpose, advertising their work appropriately, and reflecting on the difficulties of historical study. Each class presented their exhibitions in the school hall and gave feedback on each other's work. This was then collated, and two representatives were chosen from each class to improve their exhibition stands and present to the whole school throughout the day in the Globe on Tuesday 16 November. Students worked hard in a careful and reflective process to communicate their learning on this topic and educate others in the school community.European Youth ParliamentStudents from Years 10 and 11 worked for two days at the European Youth Parliament Regional Selection Conference in Amsterdam over the weekend of 13 and 14 November. They were divided into committees investigating relevant issues across Europe from cyber violence against women to exorbitant rents. They worked brilliantly over an intense few days researching, writing, and then debating resolutions to some of Europe's most pressing problems. Below is the link to the resolutions that they produced. If you click on the committee, it will show the names of the students that wrote and defended it. We had students in every committee that challenged themselves to branch out and speak up. https://www.eyp.nl/amsterdam2021/16"
