b'The NewsJunior SchoolJunior SchoolIt has been an eventful and packed Autumn Term! We started the term with a full complement of Junior classes, now with four classes in each year group, after having settled into our new school building in the Summer.s.may@britams.nl We welcomed some new faces to our staff, and lots of new children joining the school from other countries from around the world and schools in Amsterdam. There are now over 400 children in the Junior School, and we have had a great term of challenging work and fun learning, restarting many elements of school life that had been curtailed by Covid-19 for so long. As well as great topics in each year group, each class has been on a YEAR 2BALLOON RACE school trip this term, and clubs and activities after school have begun again. Our School Council has been re-established, and the children have organised events to raise money for charity, and the Eco Squad has also been meeting, thinking of ways to help us look after the environment, including the great water bottle drive to get rid of single use plastic.Despite the ongoing situation with the pandemic, and the need again for some restrictions towards the end of term, the highlight for me was Year 4s show, their version of The Wizard of Oz. Even though we were limited to a child only audience, I hope parents YEAR 3EGYPT have managed to watch the recording. It was a brilliant production and the children were thrilled to be performing inside our beautiful new theatre space. This coupled with our return to mark the Remembrance Ceremony in Amsterdam with the Junior and Senior choir was a sign that things are slowly returning to normal again.Id like to say a big thank you to all of the staff at the Junior School, who have carried on working really hard this term, they are a wonderful team to work with, and their commitment YEAR 4THE WIZARD OF OZ and enthusiasm make the school a great place to be.We wish you and your families a restful break hopefully with visits to family and friends this year, and we look forward to welcoming everybody back in January ready for the new year!MR STUART MAYVICE PRINCIPAL & HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL8'
