b"Issue 14 The British School of AmsterdamShoe Box Appeal & Food Bank This year, the Junior School Council took part in the Shoe Box Appeal to help those in need this Winter. This had a fantastic response from the children, with many inspired by the project to fill boxes with essential supplies as well as toys and gifts for children around Amsterdam who are less fortunate than themselves. All in all, we donated over 200 boxes from across the school to the charitythanks to everyone's brilliant generosity. We finished off the term with collections for a local food bank, to help people in our city who are struggling to feed their families this Christmas.SinterklaasOn Monday 5th December, we were thrilled to have a visit from Sinterklaas at the British School of Amsterdam! We know how busy Sint can be at this time of year, so we felt very honoured to have him in our school and for every class to meet him. We were also relieved to find that every child's name was in his big red book, as well as some of the teacher's names! The visit was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we wish him well on his voyage home.15"
