b'Issue 13 The British School of AmsterdamYear 6Year 6 had a busy term with the highlight being camp. They left excited with anticipation and their week in Ommen did not disappoint. From treasure hunts to kayaking, to mountain biking to cricket tournaments, they didnt stop! The children all took on responsibilities for keeping the camp clean and ordered, and all pitched in to help serve evening meals and clear up after themselves. Marshmallow toasting on fires that they build themselves was a hit as well as den building and archery. The children bonded as a year group and impressed all of the adults on the trip with their maturity and excellent team work. Maths WeekMathematical thinking and problem solving was everywhere to be seen during Maths Week. The children learnt about famous mathematicians from throughout history, worked in teams to solve problems and create puzzles for one another and just enjoyed exploring their mathematical understandings and curiosities. In the Junior School, we try to foster a love of maths by engaging the children in practical maths opportunities which demonstrate how maths is and can be used in real life situations.YEAR 6CAMP13'
