b"The NewsSenior SchoolBasketballThis spring young BSA athletes participated in a short basketball season. These athletes learned the value of a healthy active lifestyle, teamwork, and competition. Learning to play any sport is a mental and physical challenge. We successfully competed in our first basketball game against Nord Anglia School of Rotterdam as well as several BSA scrimmages. I couldnt be prouder of our BSA basketball team for their commitment, effort, and teamwork. We had tons of fun and I cant wait for next year!Plastic WhaleThe Plastic Whale Committee enables communication between students and the Foundation. Its goal is to raise awareness in school about the problem of plastic pollution. Our team worked hard to raise money to fund the annual plastic fishing trip. We organised events suchas non-uniform days and the candy jar raffle, recycled plastic bottles and organised bottle cap competitions. The bottlecaps we collected will be sent to Plastic Whale and transformed into boats, furniture and a skateboard tobe sent to us as a prize for the winning form. In this years plastic fishing expedition, Year 9 & 10 students fished an array of trash, beer cans, juice bottles, plastic bags and many menus. We learned how important and valuable these trips are as we sadly saw bird nests made out of a mixture of branches and plastic. This shows that birds cant find organic materials to make their nests, and resort toplastic waste. This trip was an amazing opportunity for Year 9 & 10students to bond, take initiatives and test their resourcefulness. Many students enjoyed the experience:This activity taught us teamwork and communication skills.
