b'Issue 13 The British School of AmsterdamEarly Years The children in the Early Years celebrated this anniversary in school with activities throughout the day, including portrait painting and a treasure hunt in search of The Queens corgis and The Crown Jewels. The children were invited to dress up as part of the celebrations and came to school dressed up as Kings and Queens, or dressed in red, white and blue, the colours of the flag of the United Kingdom. The children had some delightful Royal costumes, it was a very regal day.Junior School In the Junior School, the momentous occasion was marked with lots of activities from corgi trails to a whole school street party. The children enjoyed learning about the Queens reign from Mr Morgan who delivered an assembly to the children to tell them about the importance of the day and why we would be celebrating it in school. The Junior School was filled with colour and crowns on the day as the children arrived dressed in red, white and blue or outfits fit for a Queen!Senior School Senior School held a Jubilee Pottery Throwdown where they were challenged to make a clay bust of Queen Elizabeth in 45 minutes and the results are impressive! The Art Department also had a horse racing derby with horses representing the school houses. It was an exciting race with Prinsengrachts horse Prince winning.5'
