b'The NewsSenior SchoolArt ExhibitionYear 8 students took photos of facial features and used these images to produce clay sculptures. They carefully considered proportions and shapes, initially carving out the form from the clay. Once the basic shape was achieved, they refined the details using various sculpting tools. After the sculptures were complete, they were baked and then glazed, resulting in finely detailed and polished pieces that reflect their observational skills and craftsmanship.Year 9 students created illustrated stories about a journey, beginning with mind mapping ideas for a theme of their choice. They collected photos to use as references and developed a storyboard outlining the events on each page. They studied fine liner illustrators, analysing their techniques and styles. Drawing from this knowledge, students created their own illustrations for their stories. Each page featured layered painted backgrounds, crafted using a range of techniques inspired by abstract painters, adding depth and vibrancy to their narratives.16'
